Challenging Verses

Mat 7:13-14      Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Mat 7:21-23      Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord', will enter the kingdom of heaven...

Mat 8:5-13     ...the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth...

Mat 10:39         Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

Mat 13:47-50     Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.  When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.  This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 25:31-46  ...Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels...Then they will go away to eternal punishment...

Luke 9:23      ... if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself...

Rom 12:1      ... offer your bodies as living sacrifices ...

Heb 6:4-8          It is impossible for those ... who have shared in the Holy Spirit ... and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance.

Rev 20:15          All whose names were not found written in the book of life were thrown into the lake of fire.
