Sunday, @ 9:45 a.m. Adult Sunday School (Gospel of Matthew) with Russell Perkins in the Marion Cerretani Ladies’ Parlor.

Wednesday @ 10:00 a.m. Bible Study (“Women of the Bible”) with Pastor Damaris in the Marion Cerretani Ladies’ Parlor.  

 

YOUTH GROUP meets each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. unless otherwise stated. It starts at 5:30 with dinner and Bible Study or other activity will begin at 6:15 and last until 7:30 p.m.

LENT:  This past Wednesday was Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. This is a special time for us Christians to prepare our hearts and minds, to meditate on the Word of God, and draw close to the Lord. Please consult the reading schedule of Biblical passages enclosed. Thank you.

 

SNOW SEASON IS HERE???!!!

Although we are at the end of February 2012 should we get a heavy snowfall and need to cancel any church services or activities, WBZ News Radio 1030 & WBZ-TV will be your source for weather and storm related information. WBZ News Radio 1030 will read the list of cancellations twice per hour (:04 and :35 past) during the Storm Center Operation.

 

PANTRY OF HOPE: Open Tuesdays 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

As we continue in the Season of Lent. Please consider a gift of Christian love in the form of a donation of non-perishable food items to the Pantry of Hope. Current items needed include mustard, ketchup, fruits (except applesauce), coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bottled juices, peanut butter, cereal, potato products (instant potatoes, etc.) As always, we thank you for your continued support of those less fortunate.

 

SPECIAL NEED OF PEANUT BUTTER

We are in need of as much peanut butter as possible! Our clients come to us asking for peanut butter but we do not have any on our shelves or in the storage room. Would you be so kind to please bring us some? Thank you!

 

 

COMING UP IN MARCH:  (Please mark your calendars!): The Board of Trustees decided to set a special spring cleaning date for the inside of our church. It will take place on Saturday, March 10th. We will gather at 8:30 a.m. Please come ready to work by cleaning up some rooms, de-cluttering, dusting and making our beautiful church shine!!! Please bring your own cleaning supplies. We will divide in teams to tackle coffee hour room,  entrance areas, the sanctuary and the church’s library, Pastor Damaris’ office, etc. We know that the way our church appearance is important because it sends a loud message: that we care about our church and we are on top of things! This is a great opportunity to remove broken or useless furniture and appliances which are only taking up space. Thank you so much! Please mark your calendars!!!

 

THE MEMBERSHIP CLASSES that began on Sunday, February 5th at 9:45 a.m. will continue until March 4th. These classes are also open to those who want to learn more about our core beliefs and about our church. Come and speak to Pastor Damaris or Pastor Greg if you have any questions. Thank you.

 

ANNUAL GATHERING CHOIR

Rev. Geoff Hicks is organizing a TABCOM Choir for this year’s annual gathering (April 27-28). He is looking to hear from choir directors and singers from around the state so that he can organize schedule times. The song that will be sung is “We’ve Come To Praise Him” and is available here in PDF. Everyone can start practicing now! Be in touch with Rev. BUS TRIP TO WORLD MISSION CONFERENCE-May 18-25 in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Ride along with Ronny Lanier to “Hear the Call”. Join with others from the six New England states and head for the biggest mission event in a decade on what Ronny purports is “her last bus trip.” The group will leave May 17th and return on May 26th via Greyhound bus from the First Baptist Church in Waltham. You may park your car all week FREE at the church. The cost for conference fee, meals and lodging for the week is $934.
